Final Cut Showcase

The Final Cut Showcase, held in the fall, is a non-competitive exhibition of films made by students of the University of Virginia. Submissions can be from films made at any time; the only prerequisite is that the director/creator of the film is currently attending or has attended the University.

The Festival Committee is always looking for additional staff to help prepare and run the festival. If you are interested in becoming involved at any level for next year's Final Cut Showcase, please contact Festival Coordinator Anna Hogg at aeh8rg@virginia.edu.

Virginia Student film festival

The Virginia Student Film Festival, previously Salmagundi, is a competitive festival open to any student enrolled in an undergraduate university in the United States. Students can submit their films to 1 of 4 categories: narrative, documentary, experimental, and, new this year, music video. Selected films will be screened in April and judged by industry professionals. VASFilm will be held in Newcomb Theater on April 9-11, 2010.

The 2010 festival will likely be the largest and most dynamic to date. Critical to its success will be the direct involvement of both FMS members and the local community. Help will be needed in advance for development, in addition to staffing the venues during the festival weekend. If you are interested in helping, submit your info here.
